European Competence Center for Ovarian Cancer (EKZE)

Every year approx. 8,000 women fall sick with ovarian cancer. Women with a malign disease of the ovary require a sophisticated treatment strategy which demands a high expertise and specialization from the doctor, as the treatment quality has a direct influence on the tumor control rate and survival time of the patients.

The European Competence Center for Ovarian Cancer (EKZE) was founded on the basis of its long-standing activities and achievements of this renowned center and certified many times (TÜV Süd 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011).

The objective of the entire team of EKZE to supervise the diseases holistically and at the highest stage. Our focus is on both the complex surgery with the aim of a maximum tumor-free site and the subsequent modern cancer treatment after operation as well as the different therapeutic options in case of tumor recurrence.

Our ovarian cancer center cooperates in the interdisciplinary team with the surgery, oncology, gastroenterology, anaesthesia, pathology and different other disciplines and departments of our clinic to supply the patients with the different bundled core competencies. 

Furthermore we work very close with all resident doctors, other clinics and different self-help initiatives and foundations. You will find more information on:

The expertise of our center bases on a modern and sophisticated treatment strategies, the concept and performance of national and international phase I, II, III, and IV studies and different surveys. 

We have specialized in following diagnoses:

  • peritoneal cancer
  • borderline tumor of the ovary
  • tubal cancer
  • ovarian cancer
  • granulosa cell tumors
  • immature teratomas
